Since its
organization in 1845 in Augusta, Georgia, the Southern Baptist
Convention (SBC) has grown to over 16 million members who worship in
more than 42,000 churches in the United States. Southern Baptists
sponsor about 5,000 home missionaries serving the United States,
Canada, Guam and the Caribbean, as well as sponsoring more than 5,000
foreign missionaries in 153 nations of the world.

SBC
LIFE, published by the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist
Convention, is the journal of the Southern Baptist Convention.
Inaugurated in 1993 by the SBC Executive Committee and supported with
Cooperative Program funds, SBC LIFE features articles and updates on
topics and issues related to Southern Baptist missions and ministries,
churches, and the culture. It provides information, encouragement, and
inspiration, and majors on telling the good news of what God is doing
through the Southern Baptist Convention and its people.

entity of the Southern Baptist Convention, the nation's largest
evangelical denomination, claiming more than 40,000 churches with
nearly 16 million members.

Founded
in 1888, Woman's Missionary Union is an auxiliary of the Southern
Baptist Convention that seeks to equip adults, youth, children and
preschoolers with missions education to become radically involved in
the mission of God. Headquartered in Birmingham, Ala., WMU is a
nonprofit organization that offers an array of missions resources
including conferences, ministry ideas and models, volunteer
opportunities, curriculum for age-level organizations, leadership
training, books and more. |
