I am a native of
Alabama…Briarfield, Alabama (don’t ask it “ain’t” close to no
where). After serving a tour in the Army, I attended Jefferson
State Jr. College and later graduated from Samford University, both in
Birmingham Alabama. While at Samford, I met my beautiful and
talented wife, Darlene. I completed my education at The Southern
Baptist Seminary in Louisville, KY and since then have served churches
in Indiana, Florida and South Carolina. We have two sons: Mike is
the oldest and is following “his dad’s footsteps” by serving in the
Airborne Infantry at Ft. Bragg, NC; my youngest son, Stephen, is in
High School at Boiling Springs and plays on the varsity Tennis team…and
both are very big “Star Wars geeks.” My life verse is Col. 1:28-29 which says, “We proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end I labor, struggling with all His energy, which so powerfully works in me.” (NIV) |
